Report a move or tenancy change for Council Tax

Use this service to tell a council that you moved in or out, or that a tenancy started or ended.

We record exactly what you tell us and pass it to the council. The council decides who is liable for Council Tax.

Who can use it

• tenants and people who rent a room
• owner-occupiers
• landlords, and letting agents acting for a landlord

This service currently sends reports to Bristol, Lambeth, Manchester and Nottingham. For other councils in England we can record your report but cannot send it.

Before you start

You will need:

• the property address
• the date of the change
• an email address we can send a link to
